There are three separate court systems in Pittsylvania County that hear and manage different types of cases. The Circuit Court, General District Court, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court are based inside the Pittsylvania County Courthouse.

The Pittsylvania County Clerk of Circuit Court also oversees a variety of civil processes and manages County deeds and records.

The Pittsylvania County Courthouse is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. There is an entrance into the Clerk of Circuit Court's Office (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) on Main Street. For all Court proceedings, visitors are required to enter through the Bank Street entrance.
