Boards and Commissions

Pittsylvania County is governed by the seven-member Board of Supervisors, each of whom serve specific districts and are elected for four-year terms. While the Board of Supervisors is the primary governing body for all things local government, there are many boards and commissions that serve in advisory roles and even make decisions in areas such as zoning, public safety, human services, and economic development.

Interested in serving on one of these boards and commissions? You can fill out the form at the bottom of this page to show your interest. Most of these positions are appointed by the Board of Supervisors by district, although several of these entities either include members of the Board of Supervisors or the representatives are appointed by a local judge.
