New Residential Construction

Below are the required documents and information that Pittsylvania County Community Development requires for the issuance of a building permit for new residential construction. 

• One digital (pdf) copy of plans emailed to Community Development
• One (1) paper copy of sealed plans submitted to Community Development
• Completed building permit application
• Erosion and sediment control permit

Existing Residential Work - Alterations and Additions

Pittsylvania County Community Development requires the following documents and information for additions, alterations, and demolitions of existing residential structures.

• One digital (pdf) copy of plans emailed to Community Development
• One paper copy of sealed plans submitted to Community Development
• Completed application
