Upcoming zoning and special use permit applications
The Pittsylvania County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, November 7, 2024, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Board meeting room, 39 Bank Street, Chatham, on the following zoning and special use permit matters which can be viewed from the lists below. During the public hearing, concerns from interested citizens supporting or opposing these matters will be solicited.
Zoning Applications
- Case R-24-024 – Danny Doss; Requesting to rezone 30.0 acres from M-2, Industrial District, Heavy Industry, to A-1, Agricultural District, to allow the property to be consolidated with an adjacent parcel zoned A-1
- Case R-24-025 Request by Washington County MD, Franklin Penna Home Mission Board to rezone 9.84 acres from R-1 Residential Suburban Subdivision District to A-1 Agriculture District to allow for a cemetery on joint church property
- Case R-24-026 Request by Russell Wells to rezone 0.287 acres from A-1 Agricultural District to R-1 Residential Suburban Subdivision to consolidate property with adjacent parcel
- Case R-24-027 Request by Ricky and Ellen Childress to rezone 19.0 acres from R-1 Residential Suburban Subdivision District to A-1, Agricultural District to all for agricultural uses on the property.
- Case R-24-028 Request by Herman Cook Jr. to rezone 2.34 acres from A-1 Agricultural District to R-1 Residential Suburban Subdivision District to allow to property to be consolidated with an adjacent parcel.
- Case R-24-029 Request by Angela and Larry Benton to rezone 13.764 acres from R-1 Residential Suburban Subdivision District to A-1 Agricultural District to allow for accessory structure.
- Case R-24-030 Request by Noah and Lori Hostetler to rezone 12 parcels (12.74 acres) from M-1, Industrial District, Light Industry, to A-1 Agricultural District to alllow property to be consolidated with adjacent property.
- Case R-24-031 Request by Balico LLC to rezone 47 parcels (2,233.38 acres) from R-1 Residential Suburban Subdivision District to A-1 Agricultural District to M-2, Industrial District, Heavy Industry, to allow for a private utility (natural gas power plant) and data centers.
