Pittsylvania County Public Safety and the Fire Marshal's Office work hard to prevent fires - and minimize the effects of fires that do happen - across Pittsylvania County. One of the programs that we offer, in partnership with the Red Cross, is the free installation of smoke detectors in Pittsylvania County residences that don't have one. 

Homeowners can complete the form below to request a smoke detector. If you rent a home that does not have a smoke detector, it is the landlord's responsibility to provide and install them. After we receive your request we will contact you to schedule an appointment installation, as supply allows.
