Building and Grounds, which falls under the purview of the Public Works Department, maintains 20 county-owned buildings, constructs and repairs the more than 4,000 road signs in Pittsylvania County, and delivers voting machines during elections. The building and grounds crew is also responsible for general maintenance, which includes servicing the generators, on Pittsylvania County's 11 E911 tower sites.
