Pittsylvania County Emergency Management protects County residents by coordinating all activities necessary to improve the capability to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters. 

In short, the Emergency Management Department is responsible for helping the County with the following cycle of components related to large disasters and incidents:

• Mitigation
