Staunton River Regional Industrial Facility Authority

The Staunton River Regional Industrial Facility Authority (RIFA) is a collaboration between Pittsylvania County, the City of Danville, and the Town of Hurt. In short, the Staunton River RIFA was established to improve the economic base in the region by developing, owning, and operating one or more facilities on a cooperative basis, particularly in the Southern Virginia Multimodal Park in Hurt. The three localities work on a cost and revenue sharing agreement.

The cost/revenue sharing agreement is as follows:

  • Pittsylvania County: 61%
  • Danville: 35%
  • The Town of Hurt: 4%
