Find the LOVE: Gretna

Gretna Love sign rendering

Revitalization for a Greater Gretna’s LOVEworks sign project is currently being constructed by students at Pittsylvania County Career and Technical Center. The concept design was created by Kate Farmer, owner of The Pod and Sweet Peas on Main Street in Gretna and digitally rendered by Chatham’s Sydney Lane Ravary, of Lane Paperworks. The letters will represent the Motley Strawberry Farm, Gretna High School football, the F&P railroad, which is a large part of Gretna’s history, as well as the dams Smith Mountain and Leesville lakes.
The “E,” which represents the two dams, will also have a water feature to mimic how water spills from the Smith Mountain Lake dam down to the Leesville Lake dam and finally into the Staunton River. The water feature is solar powered.

When completed, the Gretna LOVEworks sign will be located at the corner of Main and School streets in Gretna. A dedication is expected in the Fall of 2023.
