Pittsylvania County is divided into four recreation booster clubs (Tunstall, Dan River, Chatham and Gretna). The participant should register for the middle school district in which they live. They are as follows: Tunstall - Stony Mill, Brosville and Twin Springs Elementary and Tunstall Middle School Chatham - Chatham and Union Hall Elementary and Chatham Middle School Dan River - Kentuck and Southside Elementary and Dan River Middle School Gretna - Gretna, Mount Airy and Hurt Elementary and Gretna Middle School Please note: - Twin Springs Elementary feeds more than one middle school district including Tunstall, Chatham and Dan River. Confirm which district your child is in before registering. - Southside Elementary feeds more than one middle school district including Dan River and Chatham. Confirm which district your child is in before registering.
The 5.5 mile Ringgold Rail Trail is located a couple miles past the Ringgold Golf Course on Ringgold Road. There is also a trail head on Shawnee Road and Kerns Church Road.

We offer youth athletics and a variety of programs at our Community Center located in Chatham. Our activities are advertised in the Star Tribune, Danville Register and Bee, fliers distributed through elementary and middle school homeroom folders and our program listings are available on this website. You can also visit us at our offices at 115 South Main Street in Chatham.
You are encouraged to register early for all programs. Participation for all programs is on a first come, first serve basis. Please check registration information on each individual program. Those wishing to register after the registration deadline will be placed on a team if there is room available. If there is no room, their name will be placed on a waiting list and added at a later date if possible.

We have small and large rooms available for rent at our Community Center in Chatham. Birthday parties, anniversary's, reunions, graduations and graduation parties are just a few of the events that our center is rented for. Registered voters who will be away from Pittsylvania County on election day, or who are unable to go to the polls because of illness or disability, may vote by absentee ballot. Eligible citizens may vote in person prior to election day, or apply to have an absentee ballot mailed to them. Virginia law requires a reason to vote absentee.
All military and overseas citizens should complete the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) to request an absentee ballot. Additional information for military and overseas voters can be found on the State Board of Elections website.
