1. How can I find out what my property is zoned?

A property’s zoning can be found on the County’s GIS website by searching based on the parcel ID, property address, or owner

2. How can I find out what uses are allowed within a specific zoning classification?

A list of permitted uses and uses allowed by Special Use Permit can be found for each zoning classification in the County’s Zoning Ordinance.

3. Can I live in a camper on my property?

No. Campers (recreational vehicles) cannot be used for “living, sleeping, or other occupancy when parked or stored on a residential lot or in any other location not approved for such use.” Campers can only be used for habitation when in an approved campground, regardless of the length of time.

4. Can I add a second dwelling on my property?

Two dwellings are permitted on a single parcel within both A-1, Agricultural District and C-1, Conservation District zoning districts.

5. Where can I place an accessory building on my property?

Accessory buildings are allowed in the side or rear yard and must meet all required setbacks. A building permit is required for any accessory structure over 256 square feet.
