The funds are available on a reimbursable basis for expenses such as rent and mortgage payments, personal protection equipment, and retooling of your business to better respond to COVID-19. There are plenty of costs that aren’t eligible, including:

Each business will be eligible to receive up to $15,000 that can be used for three broad categories: (1) rental and mortgage assistance, (2) personal protection equipment, and (3) retooling to allow for social distancing and a more sustainable response to COVID-19. For rental and mortgage assistance, the grants can only be used to cover principal and interest payments, but not taxes or insurance. Some of the approved retooling uses include space and technology upgrades, sanitization, and job training, classes and technical assistance.
You can apply for the grant by filling out the attached application and sending it to Pittsylvania County, PO Box 426, Chatham, VA 24531, ATTN: Susan McCulloch. The grant application may be signed electronically and submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org, but the original must be mailed.

Businesses from any industry are welcome to apply for the grants, but those in the tourism, retail, restaurant, and personal services sectors will be scored higher during the application process.
Applications for the grants will be scored according to criteria developed in concert with the Virginia Department of Community Housing and Development.
