As required by State Code, Pittsylvania County's redistricting process is underway. This process is done to realign election districts with updated population data from the United States Census Bureau. Three redistricting plans will be published on November 1 and, as required by State Code, there will be a 30-day public comment period.
Once these plans are published on November 1, citizens will have a variety of ways to see them:
- In PDF format or an interactive, online map. These options will be available at pittsylvaniacountyva.gov/redistricting beginning on November 1.
- Hardcopy versions, which will be available from Nov. 1-30 in the main lobby of the County Administration Building, located at 1 Center St. Chatham, VA 24531
Those that have feedback on the three plans can share that in one of the following ways:
- Via email or an online form, both of which will be available beginning on November 1 at pittsylvaniacountyva.gov/redistricting
- In written form, submitted at the County Administration Building, located at 1 Center Street, Chatham, VA 24531
- During a public hearing on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 39 Bank Street, Chatham, VA 24531
