Call 434-432-3582 and leave a message with your name and phone number to register for Gretna Community Vaccination Clinic
Getting community members vaccinated is the key to returning our community to normal. That's why Pittsylvania County, and our many community partners, are working hard to provide each of our residents the opportunity to receive a COVID-19 vaccine at a convenient location. In collaboration with the local health district and other partners, Pittsylvania County has established the former Foodland building in Gretna as the Gretna Community Vaccination Clinic. In addition to the Gretna site, there are many mobile clinics happening on a weekly basis throughout our community.
In partnership with the Pittsylvania-Danville Health District and many other community partners, Pittsylvania County was able to distribute the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine on April 2 and April 9. For the time being, while the administration of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is paused for the investigation of an extremely rare possible side effect, all clinics at the Gretna Community Vaccination Center will utilize the two-dose Moderna vaccine.
To register for the Gretna Community Vaccination Clinic, simply call 434-432-3582 and leave a message with your name and phone number and someone will call you back to schedule your appointment. The Gretna Community Vaccination Clinic will provide vaccines by appointment only. Pre-registration is required for anyone interested in receiving a vaccine at the Gretna Community Vaccination Clinic.
The Gretna Community Vaccination Clinic will be using an independent registration and scheduling process, separate from the state's registration portals at Vaccinate.Virginia.gov and 1-877-VAX-IN-VA. This Gretna registration process will not change any registration records created through the state’s portal; the records will remain. No action is needed for those who previously registered through the Vaccinate.Virginia portal but are able to be vaccinated in Gretna. You may register through both portals and accept the first appointment that is offered to you. In addition to the state portal, our local clinics have online appointment registration links. We will share these links as they become available.
As of April 5, our local health district is operating under Phase 2 of COVID-19 vaccine distribution. This means that anyone over the age of 18 is eligible to sign up and receive a vaccine. Over the past several weeks, our community has worked to help qualified people schedule appointments for vaccinations at our various community vaccination sites, and we will continue to fight to ensure that everyone who wants a vaccine has access to one.
