Keeper of the records of Pittsylvania County from 1767 to the present to include but not be limited to:
Concealed handgun permits; divorces; name changes; adoptions; marriage licenses; civil filings (excluding small claims and landlord tenant matters); abstracts of judgment; probate and estate administration; and recording of wills.
All land recordings to include deeds; deeds of trust; plats and maps; certificates of satisfaction and powers of attorney.
Criminal cases to include all felonies and grand jury indictments as well as General District Court Appeals.
All Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court appeals.
The Clerk of the Circuit Court is a constitutional office and is elected by the citizens for an 8 year term.
